The Vision

The new sports ground as it is envisaged will be a total community facility for all ages, male and female no matter what their chosen sport is and no matter what standard of play they wish to achieve. Everyone will be made welcome !!

At this stage junior and senior football clubs have been catered for and junior and senior cricket similarly but this is by no means the limit to the aspirations we have. For instance, a suggestion has been made that the Pavilion could be used as a centre for Table Tennis, this is being taken seriously and the incorporation of this is being taken into future plans. Netball and Tennis is another priority and we will work towards it’s provision in the future.

Wired Up

Our electricity cables are in!

What a fantastic weekend's work by the ABSA Grounds Team and all the people around them who are helping to prepare the site for the fantastic social and sports events we have planned!

Huge thanks in particular to Wayne Kingston from Onpower (on-power.co.uk) and Alex Ufton from Barkley Green (barkleygreen.co.uk) who both donated their time, machinery and materials and made this possible. And thanks too to the lovely peeps from Antlers Cafe (antlerscoffeehouse.co.uk) for the free round of teas and coffees which kept us all going. Thank you everyone.

For anyone who went down to the grounds this weekend for a lovely walk, you could barely see the excavations and it is looking absolutely amazing now. We are all getting very excited for the Lord Taverner Jubilee Celebration on 3rd June and hope to see you there!
