Abbots Bromley Football Club

The Stags

Abbots Bromley FC (ABFC) was originally formed in the 20th Century enjoying many years of success.

The club was successfully re-established in 2010 (having disbanded in the early 1990s) and currently plays on the Lowers Ground courtesy of the former Abbots Bromley School.

The final game on the Lowers will be Spring 2021, we will then move to the brand new ABSA playing surface and facilities which will be ready for the start of our 2021/2022 season.

The team is currently playing Sunday League and training is held at The National Football Centre at St Georges Park, Burton on Trent on Wednesday evenings.

ABFC was awarded Charter Standard status for the 9th successive year in 2020:

“As a Charter Standard Club, you represent the absolute best in grassroots football.

The accreditation certifies that your club upholds values that appeal to players, coaches, officials, and supporters.  It demonstrates that your club offers a place where everyone can enjoy."

The Clubs fundraising efforts since 2010 were largely centred on 2 Bupa Manchester 10k runs in 2013 and 2015, where they were represented by up to 50 players and supporters on each occasion.

Along with many other events i.e. sports quizzes, raffles etc the club has raised over 11k with Abbots Bromley Sports Association being the main benefactor and continues to actively raise funds within the community.

The Club has also benefitted over the years from sponsorship from local businesses, as well as match day sponsorship with the current main sponsors being Gallery 3 Art who are based at Barton Marina, Barton under Needwood.

The players, managers and supporters work hard to be a successful football team whilst nurturing a welcoming and positive team spirit.
